Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Remote Desktop is activated on the small business server at work, when I connect using Parallels and Windows XP I type in the IP address in internet explorer and I get an option of connecting to the small business server... I can then choose my computer and directly connect

Using the remote desktop program and the same IP address my only option is connecting directly to the server, I don't have the option to connect to my computer.

How do I go about changing this?

Thanks

I'm experiencing an identical problem. Office Server is Small Biz 2003 running XP Professional and I'm trying to connect via RDC 2.0 from a MacBook Air. The only option offered is direct access to the server. I can access a specified desk top via a PC but not the Mac.

Are there settings I must change on the Mac or is this an XP Pro - Vista issue? Both the PC and Mac are 64 bit laptops if that makes a difference but the laptop is running Vista Business.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

I am receiving the following error message:

Remote Desktop Connection cannot verify the identity of the computer that you want to connect to.

This problem can occur if:

• The remote computer is running a version of Windows that is earlier than Windows Vista. (which it is - XP Pro)
• The remote computer is configured to support only the RDP security layer. (is there an alternative security layer that will permit the mac to function properly - dwt)

Are you attempting to use RWW from your Mac? This is not supported. You
must use the Remote Desktop Connection client and connect directly to
your work computer using its IP address or its fully qualified domain name.

Hope this helps!

If you have an answer or comment for the original poster then please
respond within that thread. Otherwise, if you're looking for a solution
to your own problem -- no matter how similar to someone else's -- then
begin your own thread. Similar problems may not have the same solutions.

Are you attempting to connect to RWW on your server with your Mac? This
is not supported for clients other than Windows. You must use the Remote
Desktop Connection client to connect directly to your PC.

If this doesn't answer your question then begin a new thread with
details of your own problem, include your software versions and what
you've tried already to fix the problem.

Hope this helps!
