Hi,

I would like to off the automatic software updates and MSOffice 2008 updates in all school systems through ARD 3.2.2.Can anyone please help me with the unix command

Unfortunately, this is set per user instead of per computer. You will
have to somehow modify or control each user's preference file:

~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.autoupdate2.plist

Look for this:

<key>HowToCheck</key>
<string>Automatic</string>

You'll want to change "Automatic" to "Manual".

This is easy to control if you're using MCX (Managed Preferences)
because you can set the preference in one place and it will apply to
every computer you assign. Setting this using ARD may require you write
a simple shell script using the "defaults" command.

If your Macs don't leave your network then you can block the update at
your Internet proxy server.
