Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>programmer>tools (more info?)

Hello all,

I have a very strange problem: A standalone Java AWT scrollbar (i.e. used
as a slider) is not functioning in an applet with the default FlowLayout.
Only the middle part of the scrollbar is shown, i.e., without the arrows
and the slider. It also doesn't react to the mouse. When I use a GridLayout
instead it works.

The strange thing is that my colleagues with the same setup don't have this
problem. I have a MacBook (Intel) with Tiger 10.4.9,
java version "1.5.0_07"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_07-164)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_07-87, mixed mode, sharing)

but also with Java 1.4.2 I have the same problem.
I have tried it with Safari, Firefox and appletviewer, and they all do the
same.

In fact I have copied the whole /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework
directory from my boss to my computer (he has a similar machine) and it
doesn't help, although on his machine it works.

Does anybody have an idea what can be wrong?
