Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>system (more info?)

While I'm in Boot Camp/Windows XP, my Intel Alu iMac gives off a
regular signal of some sort which interferes with my television (which
receives video wirelessly from the satellite receiver in the other
room). I get a short burst of noisy picture breakup every couple of
minutes. When I'm booted into MacOs 10.5.1, I do not experience this
interference. Could anyone give me a clue as to what could be the cause
of this and how I could turn it off?

I don't have wireless enabled on either MacOs or Windows (although
Windows makes a big point of telling me that I don't, every time it
boots up, for some reason -- as if it's a criminal act not to have
enabled wireless). My internet connection is via wired ethernet and I
think Bluetooth is switched off in Windows but on in MacOs. What else
could be the cause? Connected hardware comprises a USB keyboard and
mouse, Firewire hard drive, Firewire scanner, USB printer and Ethernet
router. Could it be the XP firewall? Any help much appreciated.

I had a problem once with speakers when switching. Not on an iMac
though. But it was a USB power draw issue.

My USB printer and keyboard are plugged directly into the computer's
ports so I suspect nothing there; and I don't use external speakers.
One other thing has occured to me: I don't use my printer or scanner in
Boot Camp but WinXP is very keen for me to install their drivers. I
wonder if Windows constantly polls the various ports for information on
attached devices and throws a wobbly when it can't find drivers for
them? Sorry if that's preposterous but I have never used Windows before
and I haven't become enamoured with it.

Boot Camp again - OK, I finally got this damn thing figured out (but obviously on the Mac side right now using Hogwasher) and it works great. The only problem is that you have to reboot to switch the OS's. Not a big deal as I'll be on the Mac side 90% of the time. ....

Leopard and Boot Camp - I understand the Boot Camp beta will expire tomorrow when Leopard is released, and that Leopard will have a non-beta version included. If I do not upgrade to 10.5, will I be able to use Boot Camp? -- m-m

XP right click using boot camp - Hi there. My problem is that I can't figure out the "right click" button in Xp installed on a MacBook, using boot camp. I tried right command key, right command key + touching the track pad and everything I could think of. Any ideas? Thanks

Boot Camp Driver Issue. - Hi. I've managed to get boot camp, and a legitimate copy of Windows running on my MB Pro. The problem so far is this--my drivers disk appears to not have installed everything it needed to. I'm missing drivers for my battery, and also for my sound card....

Yet Another Boot Camp Backup Bust (Vista) - Apple seems to think Windows has some value, else why else would they include Boot Camp with Leopard. For some time now, I have been looking for a way that "the rest of us" could backup Vista, when it crashes on our Macs. ....and it _will_...
