Yes, it does. I don't use it as often, now that I have iWork and
switched to Numbers, but I still periodically use an AW database there
without any issues at all. And this is on a MacBook Pro, meaning it's
Intel-based, should that be the next question. It's also operating on a
PPC iMac G5.

Steve, thanks for the reply. I recently replaced my Mac Preforma with
an Intel based Mac Pro Tower. I have a lot of database files on my old
computer that I would like to use on my new one. I thought I would
transfer them over and use AppleWorks 6 for them. iWorks' Pages is all
right for WP, but I don't like using a spreadsheet program for database
work. I prefer AppleWorks' database program instead.

6.2.9 is the last version, which was a free upgrade. I've no idea if the
upgrade is still available anywhere though.

Adrian, thanks for the reply. v6.2.9 is still available for download
from Apple's website as well as through the PureMac website.

Sorry about my error, though -- I forgot to recognize that 6.2.4 isn't
the latest version and that you needed the 6.2.9 update.

And what do you use for bitmap drawings? |

I'm not sure what you mean...so far as I know, I don't use any bitmap
drawings anywhere.
I don't even remember the last time I used any part of AppleWorks except
the word processor, spreadsheet or database. Since buying iWork, I
pretty much never use any part of it but the database, and that only
very occasionally for one family reunion database I keep.

Ok. I use myself AppleWorks, mainly because there aren't other valuable
drawing applications available.
So, in such a case, AppleWorks isn't to be replaced. |
