4Media DVD Creator stalls at 50%-32%...

...but not on every file. It's the same experience I had with Xilisoft DVD Creator (right up to the same percentages). It's always .AVI files I work with; some make the transition to DVD (Video_TS) with no problem. But some stall.

I wondered if 4Media locks up on anyone else. More importantly, does anyone know how to prevent it?

Is it like the demo watermark, something that will stop as soon as I register? Or maybe it's similar to Toast's bracket issue; if the VIDEO_TS folder resides in another folder or folders whose name(s) include brackets —"[]"— Toast gives a false CSS encryption message every time.

If it is a Toast-like issue, I can't figure out 4Media's "brackets." I'd sure appreciate anyone who can help me with this problem!
