I can't get presenter's tools to work correctly when using a projector
at my school. Even when I switch the projector to a low resolution and
make it the right-hand (also tried left-hand) monitor in the Displays
preferences, the projector displays my presenting tools and my laptop
screen displays the presentation. I can get two monitors working
correctly using a monitor at home, so it has something to do with the
Epson PowerLite (82c?)1024x768 projector I use at school.

Any ideas?

Right hand or left hand doesn't make any difference. What really matters
is where the menu bar is located. You can actually grab the menu bar on
the representation of the two monitors and move it from one to the
other.

The screen with the menu bar is considered the main screen and will
display the presenter view whereas the other one will have the slide in
full view,

There's a well-buried setting in PowerPoint that controls which monitor
has the presentation and which has the presentation tools. Go to the
"Slide Show" Menu --> "Set Up Show..." --> "Screen..." button (at the
bottom). You should be able to select which screen has the
presentation in there. Hope that helps!

Mark
