Post subject: xv zooming in/out in Gnome
Archived from groups: alt>os>linux (more info?)

My image viewer of choice has been xv since I began messing with BSD
and linux sometime before RH 7.2 was released. My primary reason for
the preference was the keyboard shortcuts. I also liked the ability
to zoom with CTRL+LMouseButton and a few other functions with CTRL
pressed.

I've run into a problem using these features under Gnome 2.24.1 on
Ubuntu 8.10. It looks like the combinations aren't reaching xv,
possibly being grabbed by Gnome. Is there something I can tweak to
fix this, or am I reading the situation incorrectly. Xv does respond
under enlightenment, but I have gotten used to Gnome's panel and
menus.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael C.

I found the problem myself. I had show location of mouse when CTRL
key is pressed checked in mouse settings.

In a world without walls or fences,
what use do we have for windows or gates?

The manual is in postscript, xvdocs.ps, there is a lot of info in
there. I usually pick things up just browsing it periodically.
