Post subject: syslog and proftpd
Archived from groups: comp>os>linux>networking (more info?)

Hi,

i hope my questions is in this ng not soooo misdirected Wink ...

My new installed proftpd do not log by syslog. If i change the entry in
conf-file to
SystemLog /foo/bar/log
i have an logfile with
FTP session opened.
User *** login ...
FTP session closed.
But if i use the syslog logging [# SystemLog ....] then nothing happens.

I've upgraded from version 1.2.2 to 1.2.9rc1; configured with
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var
[with 1.2.2. all was working]. My conf is same like in version 1.2.2
[except for ScoreboardPath --> ScoreboardFile]. I use SuSE 7.2.

Any person outside who knows an solution for syslog logging ?

regards
marko
