Post subject: python > 2.2 on RHEL ES 2.1
Archived from groups: linux>redhat (more info?)

Hey All,

I need to install a version of python > 2.2 on my RHEL 2.1 ES box.
The install is 95% stock RHEL. Are there packages installed that require
the currently installed python-1.5.2-43.72 and would not be able to use a
compiled newer version? Do I need to uninstall 1.5.2 or can it be left?
Unfortunately, this is a production box and I can not afford to play around
with it too much in testing these issues.

Thanks....
