Post subject: gimp 1.3.16 does not support jpeg?

Always, when I try to open a jpeg file, gimp 1.3.16 complains
that the file is an unknown type. Also, in the file open
dialog, there's no jpeg in the file type list. Is it true that
gimp 1.3 does not support jpeg any more?

solved after I install imagemagick and libexif. sorry to
bother all of you again!
