Too much is not working any more. Blank CD and DVD are not recognized
with 11.1. Can't burn nothing.

I have not had a problem with k3b and blanks.
I am, however, using kde3 with 11.1 and no kde4.
With all the ongoing im-maturity in kde4, they should have never made it
default.
My first install was with kde4 and then I re-installed with only kde3
selected (check on other and kde3).
Could also solve other problems!

Didn't work with Gnome either. I'll try installing KDE 3.5.9 or 10 and
see before I wipe it.

Nope, KDE 3.5.10 did not fix it. Moving back to 11.0. If this don't work
it's back to 10.3

11.0 with KDE 3.5.9 seems to have fixed the burner problem. Cleaned up
the 'My Computer' screen too.

i had this problem in KDE3.
Just by adding my user in the cdrom and disk groups, solved the problem.
it used to work in 10.3 and 11.0, stopped working with 11.1 upgrade...
but now it works.
hope it works for you as well. |

Repartition after deleting old ones and a clean install of 11.0 with KDE
3.5.9; I'm getting used to this. |

You are so right. Why didn't I know that? I tried that on my other 64
bit machine with 11.1 and Gnome on it and after a reboot, it was able to
burn again. Many Thanks.
