HI
A few weeks ago I plugged in my digital camera through a USB port and was
able to upload pictures and used digicam to store and view pics...great
I unplugged camera and ever since have not been able to use USB ports for
any other hardware. I tried to reconnect the camera and digicam tells me
that no device can be found. I tried an external cd burner that worked
before i upgraded from 8.1 to 9.1 Nothing detected and K3b does not see the
device. My test this morning was a USB flash drive that workes fine on
another 9.1 machine i use. When i plug in the flash drive nothing happens.
I have hotplugging turned on but if i issue command dmesg i get this...

I don't have a clue whats going on. Except that something is broken and
don't know how to fix it.
I am running Suse 9.1 (upgraded from 8.1) KDE 3.4 (upgraded from FTP server}
Any help or direction would be appreciated

If it can help I give you my experience. I had troubles with usb stuff under
suse 9.1. Some external devices were detected, some weren't. Everything
changed when i bought an external usb hub (i have a portable with only two
usb port). Now everything works but some devices work *only* when i plug
them in the usb hub, some work *only* when i plug them in the usb ports.
Don't know why.
Ciao

Could be because the power requirements of some need the extra power
provided by a hub, while the others are fine on the direct USB ports.
