I noticed a few changes from PCLOS 2007, aside from the kernel update:
fstab lists only the active partitions, rather than all. The install
checks all partitions and offers a choice. The default includes
separate /home and / partitions, but can be overridden.
I have a set-up with 4 Windows partitions, / and /home for four Linux
systems as well as a separate boot and swap partition, a total of 14 on
two drives. I normally use KDiskFree to mount other partitions, but it
relies on fstab entries and shows only the ones used for this install.
CUPS wasn't started at boot. Easily fixed.
You no longer need to edit .fonts.config to get font "hinting".

I put GRUB into the "/" partition loader, and used my common "boot"
partition with no problems. Chainloading also works.

My on-board S-3 graphics won't handle compiz.

No problems here! Set it up from KControlCenter.

Setting up Epson on CUPS list was easy. Adding my Brother DCP-110C took
some doing, as it did with all PCLOS releases to date.
