Hello,

has anybody tried Flash Player 9 beta 2 yet? After I installed the new
library, Opera crashed almost every time Flash was used. I downgraded to
Flash Player 7 again and everything works the way it is supposed to again.

I tried Flash Player 9 beta 2 with Firefox without any problems.

Marc

Same experience. Some sites work with opera (adobe.com); many don't
(buyitonaccess.com). Same error messages as posted in the adobe
forums:

$ opera

(process:10611): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2254:
initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this
function

(process:10611): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_clipboard_get_for_display:

Adobe FlashPlayer: gtk_clipboard_get(GDK_SELECTION_PRIMARY); failed.
Trying to call gtk_init(0,0);
Segmentation fault

IIRC, it was mentioned at the release of Flashplayer 9 beta that there were
problems with Opera and that they were working with Opera to fix it.

Sorry, to quick there, didn't realize beta2 was out. No idea if it's
supposed to work now.

I have installed it right now and looks like it's working. Youtube videos
play just fine.
See what happens Smile
