Firestarter for Debian

Hello,

I went to the following site
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/admin/firestarter.html
then down to wehre it says DOWNLOAD FIRESTARTER ...i chose architecutre
i386. The following package wa downloaded
firestarter_1.0.3-1.1_i386.deb
my question is if i put this file on cd and install on XANDROS which
according to someone is DEBIAN BASED...would it install fast? like an exe
file on windows? Is this like an rpm package found on fs-security.com? What
im trying to say is what is the process of installing the deb file mentioned
above? Thank you. Please be as non technical as possible...im new at linux.

P.S. know of any firewall i can get thats very easy to install for XANDROS

Two points:

1. This mailing list (debian-www) is for discussing issues
related to the maintainence and development of the debian project's
website.
If you have "user" questions you should instead ask upon the
debian-user mailing list.

2. Xandros is Debian based, but Debian only supports itself.
If you have questions about how it works, or which external packages
you can install you should contact Xandros support.
Whilst finding an answer there isn't 100% likely it's better
than the response you will receive here.
