Bibus is a bibliographic database entirely written in python
that uses the cross-platform wxWidget library.
Bibus has been developed with OpenOffice.org
(http://www.openoffice.org/) in mind and can directly
insert citations and format the bibliographic index in an
opened Openoffice.org writer document.

Personnal comment: As a user, I really like Bibus. I find it easier to use and
more stable than its proprietary competitor, EndNote.

Upstream author is responsive and packaged Bibus as a Debian native pacakge. In
the following SourceForge bug, he invites people to finish the work and make
bibus an official Debian package.

By the way, the packager would probably have to help solving that bug...
