I played a game with Baby. I was thinking now I will lose quickly. But
I am happy that I was able to get a win in 81 moves.
This game I was very lucky. I got a forced exchange where I won the
Bishop for 2 pawns.
Then there was a mate threath So Baby Level has to sacrifice the Rook
by fork.
In middle game I was unaware how to get a win So I made many wrong
moves. but despite wrong moves I was able to get a win.
Can you do analysis and tell me how could I have better planned and
get a quick win?

This is my first win after 6 months. I am happy I am able to get a win
against the Baby Level.
In this game I was very lucky. Else Baby is very difficult for me.
Further I was thinking 10-15 sec / move against Baby.
Do you feel I play like a 1600 player?
What do you say. Was my attack technique good?
What was missing in my play style?
Ofcourse I may have missed a few tactics. As I was only seeing 1-2
depth deeper.
Was there any wrong move by me?
Bye

Sanny, in order to do a computer analysis, in order to
*objectively* pinpoint the most critical errors, one would
have to hand-type in all the moves-- a tedious and dull
process.
What you need to do is modify your program's output
so that it meets the PGN standard, and then everybody
can cut-and-paste entire games for analysis and replay
with ease.
One thing your output has wrong, I believe, is castling;
this can be represented by "O-O" or "O-O-O".
Another thing is the promotion of pawns, which your
GetClub program mucks up terribly. Chess has a very
complicated mess of rules, and as a result it is a bit
tricky to represent the promotion of a pawn in a way
that fits neatly with the notation of standard moves; in
general, I believe one writes out the pawn move and
then adds on the information regarding which piece it
is promoted to, like so: p-a8 = N+, which means you
pushed the pawn to the eight rank on the a-file, and
then replaced it with a Knight, giving check-- and it
goes without saying, also delivering a "royal fork" on
the enemy King and Queen; promoting to a Queen
would have delivered stalemate-- a trap you saw with
relative ease, and avoided effortlessly. (Apart from
the file, this has happened in a recent game of mine
at GetClub.)
Analyzing blindfold, in my head that is, I would say
your first mistake was 3. Nf3, because it allowed the
reply dxe, and recapturing the pawn leads to a loss
of the right to castle on either side (which of course
is disadvantageous, except where castling on either
side is bad). Some time after this, there appeared
to be a computer malfunction, for no machine in its
right mind would play such moves as 9. ...Rg8 or
13. ...Rb8. Perhaps someone had accidentally
spilled some beverage on the keyboard, and a bit of
the liquid seeped onto the motherboard underneath?
Or maybe it was a bug-- a small beetle or spider got
into the microprocessor chip?
Anyway, I hope you will consider "fixing" your pro-
gram so that it will be compatible with the PGN
standard, or even the Windows standards (such as
a pop-up box closing when you click the "X" in the
top right corner). You seem to be able to add on
a good number of complex advertisements, scrolling
side-windows and whatnot; so why then is it so very
difficult for you to comply with the orders of the evil
Empire, as dictated by Emperor Bill Gates? You
don't want him to be forced to leave a garrison of
soldiers behind, do you? Or to send to India his,
uh, ambassador, Darth Vader? Just comply with
Microsoft-- don't question why, if you know what's
good for you. Remember what happened to Count
Dukoo... .

Everybody already does that which leaves only you not capable of doing
so, which makes me wonder if you might be a bit challenged in this area
?? What proggie do you actually cut/copy & paste to dear chap ? if you
don't mind me asking ???

Incorrect. It's true, that in the past Sanny's pgn's suffered the
Polgar-problem where 0-0, 0-0-0 appeared as 0I0, 0I0I0 (or similar) but
this was in the distant past & is not current so I'd advise against
sending him on some wild goose chase...
[[kudos btw to Sanny for beating-up "baby" -- some of that 'mindless'
rook-play was almost Nakamuranesque in forcing 'baby's' 31. ...Rh7 which
was clearly the beginning of the end, although I'm in agreement with
"sd" that you're still an ~ 800 player..]]...

You can view the complete game animated on your computer here
http://www.getclub.com/playgame.php?id=DM53023&game=Chess
Each move is played every 10 sec and you can manually go back and
forward using the 2 buttons.
Are you unable to view the game moves replayed at:
http://www.getclub.com/playgame.php?id=DM53023&game=Chess

Once the game is analyzed by Baby Level it converts each move into a
decent format.
It adds X for exchanging moves
0-0 for kingside castling
0-0-0 for Queenside castling.

I will see if I can do something about it once my computer is
repaired.
I do not have access to the computer that has GetClub Program.
My computer is just not responding. Looks like I have to replace the
memory chips.
I am afraid if Harddisk too have couropted or not. In that case all
GetClub Chess Program is gone as I have not made any good backups
recently.

I will check why it played the wrong move once my computer is
repaired.

Yes, That problem is yet to be solved.

And Arena reads Sanny's notation as PGN if just add two headers.

Presumably except for pawn promotions. Even CB isn't that forgiving -
and the game then goes completely to pot since any apparently illegal
moves of the newly created queen are ignored.

Any pointers to such games, a quick look at the game of this thread
showed nothing that looked like it would be a promotion.

When Google groups fixes itself I'll try and find one. At the moment
everything I try goes "Server Error" at their end.
