I currently have my TIVO box connected to my satellite box and TV via
standard AV cables - will I notice any difference if I change to S video
cables?

Maybe. I get a less blown-out video image (better dark shading) with S-video
compared to Composite, but nothing really stunning.

Possible - it depends on your set, but S-Video is a higher quality
signal than composite video.
