Ah yes the Ecureuil, later developed in to the Fennec, nice chopper )

The model was developed to specifications made by the French government, and
the assignment was to build a chopper, suited for police ops, at a price of
no more than one million Franc a piece, which is one reason for the cabin
being made in plastics )

The Fennec is the military version, the cockpit is still plastic, but it's a
very stable missile platform, mostly TOW missiles. We have a few of them
here in Denmark, used by both military and police (no missiles when used by
the police though / ). The pilots loved them, right up until the day they
were deployed to a real war zone, in the former Yugoslavia, then they all of
a sudden started to whine about it's lack of protective armour )
