I have just downloaded the French Ecureuil 'squirrel' helicopter which was
designed for FS9 but which is also able to fly in FSX. I found it to be a
most stable and easy to fly machine. It may be my PC, but the sound is a bit
dodgy in FSX though.

file name is

I, too, really like the AS350, Quilly and fly it frequently. Turbine Sound
Studio has a really nice sound pack here.

Nemeth Designs has a nice payware version, too. But it is not any more
enjoyable than the freeware stuff.

You can find other variations of the AS350 at Hovercontrol.com, too. It
handles so smoothly.

Ah yes the Ecureuil, later developed in to the Fennec, nice chopper Surprised)

The model was developed to specifications made by the French government, and
the assignment was to build a chopper, suited for police ops, at a price of
no more than one million Franc a piece, which is one reason for the cabin
being made in plastics Surprised)

The Fennec is the military version, the cockpit is still plastic, but it's a
very stable missile platform, mostly TOW missiles. We have a few of them
here in Denmark, used by both military and police (no missiles when used by
the police though Surprised/ ). The pilots loved them, right up until the day they
were deployed to a real war zone, in the former Yugoslavia, then they all of
a sudden started to whine about it's lack of protective armour Surprised)
