Must really depend on the realm. On mine, mages are in huge demand at
level 70, especially for heroics. There are never enough.

Because at spawn time, the mob (or the ai controlling the mob, really)
doesn't know the composition of the party. The party makeup can and
does change frequently, especially in raids and what entered the
instance may not be the same as what battles the mob eventually.

Ah. Good point. For raids, yes, I can see the difference.

That only applies until everyone who runs the instance or whatever,
has the required item. You might run an instance specifically to
gather stuff for DE purposes.. I know my Enchanter soloed SM Cath a
number of times for just that purpose.. Didn't care what dropped,
just wanted level 35-39 greens for mats.

It is pretty remarkable how the servers differ in certain areas.

More like 6. The people that Naxx was built for, the supremely bored high

Of course it is! Just put on an insignia and turn in scourgestones, the
same way you did at 60 when you hit revered. *

The best way to do this that I've seen is to solo Scholo. It's pretty
easy although the diseases and curses are a drag if you don't have a
cleansing method. Every single mob kill gives rep even at Revered.

Wear the trinket they give you, of course they don't drop if you don't do
that, but there's no trouble with drops if you do.

All true and gratefully received... I suppose as the mage is a great
soloer, I don't spend much time if any in lfg.. just get on with
killing stuff.

I ought to though, if only to improve her gear.. she's quite low in
bonus spell damage and +spellhit.
