I'm a pro painter myself, recently started up (and since I'm mentioning
it I'll take this opportunity to blatantly plug my web site
http://home.btconnect.com/rickpropainter). At auction painted models
tend to have an exponential relationship between quality and price - a
model that is merely "OK" will not sell for enough to be profitable,
but once you reach a certain amount of wow factor the price will
usually shoot up. This particular item is attractively presented with
clear photographs - both essential to getting high prices. The interior
detail adds massively to the value as this definitely comes under wow
factor and prestige value. Of course being lucky enough to have two or
more bidders who want your item badly is also helpful

Also,
remember that the type of people who buy painted models tend to have a
lot of disposable income and are willing to spend a lot for quality.
Oh, and Black Templar stuff always seems to go for a lot. I've noticed
one guy who seems to sell endless numbers of converted black templar
high marshalls.
