....or did I screw up installation somehow? Maybe I need to have an
internet connection?

I purchased the sealed CD package, looks authentic, had printed CD
etc. From what I've read, an internet connection is not required to
play.

So I installed and set up the mods and played.

**spoilers**

With Kingmaker, it just seemed to end a bit abruptly with a cutscene,
when leaving the Ilitthid lair, but it seemed to be a normal ending
(despite the previous "your grandmother will want to talk to you"
coments).

With Shadowguard, the module ends as you get on a ship - there's a cut
scene circling around a ship, then the character exports, and module
ends with you and your troop pursuing the Crimson Prophet down the
river.

With Witch's Wake, a ghostly figure writes on the wall, the character
exports, and module ends. You're still stuck in a rat-infested hole
with the forgetful elf.

Is that right? If so, I am sorely disappointed at the lack of content
- I want an end to modules that I paid for, not to hope there is a
part two out there.

That's the ending.

That's the ending of the first part, the second one never appeared.

Sadly, Atari cancelled the Premium Modules so Bioware was not allowed
to create the continuation.
With Witch's Wake and Kingmaker there also was the problem that they
weren't placed in the Forgotten Realms and Bioware was forbidden to do
this as well.

I think that whole incident was a large part of the reason why Bioware
started to create their own system and universe for DragonAge.

Ahhh, thanks for the info. I wish I had known that before my
purchase; I didn't do a ton of research before buying... what I did
see just said that certain people preferred one module over the
others, etc., and no where did it indicate that this is part 1 of a
series... even in the mods themselves.

Absolutely. Only Kingmaker was a complete mod, and the ending was
abrupt - no explanations. The Daggerford module, that was slated to
be a premium mod before the program was cancelled, was *much* better
than any of the three on the CD and it had a real ending.

I would have never have bought these if i had known there were two
half modules...

They were pants, weren't they.

When you consider what you can download for free from the NeverWinter vault,
these "premium" modules are a disappointment, to say the least....

Well, on the other hand, the purchases of those Premium modules are
what got us 1.69.
