I was wondering if anyone still had a playable install of Hellcats and/
or Leyte Gulf that could help out by taking some screen shots for the
Wikipedia article on the topic? Specifically, I'd like to get images
of:

1) the mission screen showing the setups
2) a small number of in-game shots from the original, bomb base and
the B-17 escort might be good ones
3) a similar small number of shots from Leyte, especially near/at one
of the airbases to show the improved detail.

BTW, is there some way to run this on my Intel Mac? I have seen
various emulators out there, but are they fast/good enough for
Hellcats and A-10?

There's an OS X version of Basilisk:

I haven't used Basilisk in ages, but way back when it was impressively fast
on a Pentium III running Windows.

I have a cheapo Saitek Cyborg 3D (cheap compared to the ADB Fighterstick
Pro). It's fine. It has a neat twist rudder control too. I am all teh
sideways.

No. The force is not strong in this one.

Sorry for disappearing on you all, I got drawn off into an A-10
article... I'll be asking for pictures from that shortly Smile

Oh geez, you have no idea how difficult it is. And they keep changing
the requirements so months later you get messages saying they'll
deleted it unless you do some magic incantation which isn't documented
in the message or anything it links to.

Trust me on this one - if you value your sanity, just e-mail them to
me. Can you see my e-mail here? If not it's my full name with a dot,
at gmail.

And please, everyone reading this, read the article I've put up on the
wiki and hack away at anything that's wrong, innaccurate or missing.
And any links to external sources of information would be useful to.
Or you could just post here, I'm happy to edit it up.

Evening all. Have a packet of peanuts with that beer Michael?

I've been reduced to playing First Eagles for PC on my iMac, couldn't
be faffed with installing sheepshaver to try and get some of my old
games up and running again.

Only one? Well, no matter. Although I dearly love peanuts (or most any kind
of nuts for that matter), a recent tendency toward diverticulitis has made
them off-limits for me, alas.
