Apart from the fact that although the plan is indeed there, I'm not
quite sure whether there are many games in it.

Zelda PH: Will definitely continue this, as I only just completed the
first dungeon and am now running around with my hourglass. Which is a
part I really really dislike.

Baldur's Gate (PC): Bought the complete edition re-release this week
for a fiver, so at least I'll install the games and I might even start
the first one.

Pro Evo 6 and Geometry Wars. If I'm getting close to the TV, that is,
which isn't entirely sure because of...

Moving (RL): It isn't me who's moving though, but we're going to help
some friends of our's. So lot's of heavy things on my tiny shoulders.
Which somehow is exactly the same thing I'll be doing next weekend. Do
I smell a career starting? (Or what else is that strange smell???)

Mine should have loads of gaming, although I suspect the actual number of games
will be fairly low. The missus is off to a hen do somewhere in York-ish, so
I'm going to be trying to avoid thinking about it by playing:

World of Warcraft (PC) - I've got to that point where you've got a bunch of
quests that are all yellow or orange, but where you clearly need to be a level
or two higher before you can do the yellow ones and the orange ones aren't even
worth trying. Time to find a new questing area, methinks.

Half Life 2 (PC) - Probably.

And maybe something on a console, if I can be bothered to turn one of them on.

Also, I'll be going to see a variety of comedians as part of the last weekend
of the Manchester comedy festival. Woot.

Apart from the Post Beer Festival Recovery Game, and PW3, I don't really have
any plans for playing anything else.

I should start something new, perhaps, now Bioshock is done, but I don't know
what...

PW3 - Final case and beginning to become pretty engaging. I don't think it's
quite the big conclusion to a trilogy that some have described it as, but
it's still epic in an intra-game way. If you see what I mean. Maybe I've not
progressed enough yet though.

Portal - This arrived midweek and I'm around half way through. Strangely
there's something slightly more accessible about PC games than console (it's
always on, can save anywhere so can play for 10 mins at a time etc) so very
likely I'll carry on.

God of War 2 - If I can be bothered.

TEH METROID (Wii): 'tis here. Will be played. Although intending only a
brief foray into Samus' world as I'd like to finish Eternal Sonata first
- willpower being not my strongpoint, this I may not achieve, however.

Eternal Sonata (360): A few more hours on this. The second it feels like
a chore though, it will be gone.

PGR4 (360): Perhaps a few races, maybe even start the career, although
it's only really rented to throw the Mini Cooper S around a few tracks
in the rain.

Ableton Live (RL): Try to score a beta place for 7 if the next round
arrives.

I'm hoping that the trip to Exeter to visit the wife's family last week
will stand me in good stead for laying the law down this week. So, in
the two hours I manage to liberate on sunday, I'll be playing:

Folklore (PS3) - Bag of disparate parts that it is, the individual
elements of this game are still keeping my interest. Edge gave the game
5/10 and I'm inclined to agree. The potential for an excellent game is
there, but it's just not being pulled together right.

PGR4 (360) - More of this, as it's ace.

E4 (360) - this is a cunning little game. You play it for 10 minutes, go
"oooh, that's a really fun game, I'll buy it", then you play it for half
an hour and go "oh, it doesn't appear to get any better". Lots of modes
though, so I'll reserve final condemnation till I've played a bit more
of it.

GW:RE (360) - I'm determined to get this game past the 750k mark over
the weekend. I think that may involve buying a new controller as I've
noticed the analog sticks on mine are starting to stick in place now.

Putting up shelves (RL) - I bought the Master Chief figure from
kotobukiya the other day (really good figure, but a bit pricey for just
PVC), and the back of the box reveals that there are 4 figures in the
series, the next one being Cortana. Mr Spartanpants is currently ruining
the ambiance of the DOA(X) shelf, which just won't do.

I humbly request the privilege of viewing pictures. I only have a handful
of those super-posable figures that game out as promo items for DOA3, but
those are quite lovely. Also, doesn't the Halo/DOA4 crossover make the
shelf usage more sensical in some way?

I'll try to play...

PGR2 (Xbox)
It's quite nice that I never touched arcade mode first time round, as it's
giving me something new to do rather than replaying bits of the career. I
might even continue with it when the 360 is back, because it's a fine, fine
game and the variety of cities is still ahead of the current gen versions.

Beyond Good and Evil (Xbox)
I'm thinking that I might restart this - I originally got almost to the end,
but lost my save when my original black box died. When sorting through stuff
to sell, it caught my eye again, and I think it could be the perfect thing
to seriously get my teeth into as opposed to the predominantly bite-sized
chunks of gaming I've been indulging in recently.

Tiger Woods 07 (Wii)
I played a bit of the Tiger Challenge last night, and have built my stats up
a bit. I think I'm more comfortable now with the swing mechanism. It takes a
conscious effort, feels really unnatural and is nothing like a real golf
swing, but I can control power and direction reasonably consistently now.
Unfortunately, putting remains a complete mystery. I may have to read the
manual to see whether I'm missing something, as controlling the power seems
to be completely beyond me at the minute, leading to some comedy moments
like knocking the ball past the pin, off the green and into a bunker. Oh,
how I chuckled. Neutral

PES4 (Xbox)
It seems that the online community has disappeared, which is a major bummer.
During the week there were no games available, which surprised me a little,
I suppose. Sure, it's reasonably old, and not even the most recent iteration
available on the Xbox, but I expected there to be at least one other person
somewhere in the world looking for a game. I'm not sure I really fancy it
offline, so this all depends on me being able to find that elusive online
opponent.

Space Channel 5 (DC)
For some cheery, colourful, rhythmic fun. It occurs to me that my games-mad
son has never actually seen this, so I'm going to introduce him to it. I
think it ought to be right up his street.

Finished this last night. At about halfway through I have to admit I
was wondering what all the fuss was about, but by the end it was
fantastic.

Would have finished it the night before, but I had to stop playing due
to motion sickness! Never had that off a game before and hope it
doesn't happen again...

There will be some in mine.

The Orange Box (360) - No doubt I'll spend most of the weekend guiding
the other half through Portal. She's called me several times this week
and made me put it on to talk her through bits, and she's only on level
18. But if I get to play it myself, then I'll be back on with HL2. Went
back last night and got the achievements I'd missed (assaulting a man
with a can, finding a faceplate, shooting a basket, go to a singing
cave, that kind of thing) so I shall resume my proper game at the start
of Ravenholm, and try to use nowt but my gravity gun (I AM A WHORE!).

PGR4 (360) - This is just so, so good. I played around 10 hours of it
the other day. I'm ranked 16th.

FIFA 08 (360) - 2 challenge regions down, 8 to go, so it is where I
shall be focusing my attention.

There doesn't seem to be much interest in Metroid for some reason. All
the groups have been fairly quiet on this little title. I'm working all
weekend but what little time I do have will be spent with this probably.

I didn't want to mention that I wasn't finding it particularly hillarious up
to now, so this is reassuring.

I love the game though if only for the portal gun. I can spend ages just
marvelling at it.

I assume from this post that it's out today? I thought it was December!

Can I avoid the 2 point achievement? I only ask as I'm at the bit where
I think the singing cave probably is (13 points), and I've either got to
get both achievements or neither if I'm to avoid an uncomfortable
gamerscore. It took ages to fix it last time.

meh i did that and it wasn't for any sordid achievement gratifiction -
wish Valve would retro-fit pc version of this and ep 1 with achievements
though.
