Q: Mylars around Pop Bumpers (Just a thought I had) - Hi, I know many say these areas need them but I have gone without them on my Cleared HSII, heaps of damage had been caused having one there from the factory which I found after it was removed, the edge of the Mylar around the Pop Bumpers once..

Tech: Anyone tone down pop bumpers on Breakshot? - Frenchy, for one, mentioned once that Capcom's Breakshot pop bumpers kick a bit too hard due to Capcom's 'all one coil' game design. I've realized that really bugs me. Anybody try toning these down a bit? Did you like the result? How did you do it? ..

TECH: Black Hole Pop Bumpers - The two top pop bumpers on the upper playfield are not working. I have modified and rebuilt all the pop bumper boards per Clay's site, I have changed the coils and fuses and still nothing. I know the boards are good as I checked them with the working..

i am wondering...why or what or who put the "wooden colored mylar
protectors" on williams games...

you see so many games that have these on there..they are around the pop
bumpers...usually on willimas games..sometimes on gottleib.. but
mainly wiliams!

my question ..were these a factory deal..were they an after market
deal..who made these ... and do they come off ....?? or should they
be left on a game....... (as far as value)..

????

Williams typically glued them to the playfield (good idea). I've never
tried to remove one.

Gottliebs (at least some of them) were not attached (bad idea). I've
seen numerous Gottliebs with all kinds of wear UNDER the mylar ring
because dust and dirt gets under there and then acts as an abrasive
while the loose rings slide around when the game is played.

so you are saying that some of these games originally got those put on
them at the
factory????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

what determined that ??? just coincidence..or someone who thought it
was a good idea..

but this was a "WILLIAMS" thing then!~~??

that is what i need too know about! i dont mind them..but i want too
know if they were originally intended too just cover and protect what
was under there too begin with

i have seen these on games..and never have know this ..
