how do you get multiple trackballs working in Marble Madne..

I have 2 trackballs on my control panel and I heard you get them working for
games like Marble Madness(2 Player). I go into the TAB menu and the
trackballs are recognized as the same device. How do I get them recognized
as separate devices?

Does the frontend matter? Shouldn't this be a mame setting?

I've always wondered if two trackballs would be useful, the only games
I can think of that would use them would be Marble maddness, Traxx,
Track and Field, and my favorite Cabal. Are there any other dual
trackball games?
