I have FS2000 Pro. In total 3 patches were released, patch 1, patch 2,
and patch 2b. As I remember, there was an error in patch 2, and 2b
quicky replaced it. I downloaded patch 1 in Jan/00, and patch 2b
in Dec/00. There was also a patch released for FS Edit, which came
with the Pro version.
This NG and microsoft.public.simulators, were very vocal back then
about the problems with FS2000, and I'm sure that's what led to the
updates, and updates for subsequent FS versions. The FS NGs
caught, and kept MS's attention.

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO NOW TO GET THEIR ATTENTION???? HAVEN'T WE BEEN
VOCAL ENOUGH? Obviously, MS has become hard of hearing. Why do I
have to buy programs to tweak the deficiencies in their software
design? Why don't they do it? When I buy a new car, it is under
warranty bumper to bumper for THREE years. Software should be as
well. I know we've chewed this up and spit it out a zillion times,
but it does feel good to give out a primal scream once in a
while......besides, no one is listening.

Phil Taylor was listening, but apparently he's no longer
with the team. At least we got SP1 and SP2 for FSX. |

As I recall it, the updates for FS2K were mostly scenery fixes, they never
got around to fix the biggest issue, the CPU hogging. Today I can run it at
max settings with darn good FR's, but back then it took a state of the art
top shelve PC to run it at even mid range settings /
FSX of that time ;o)
I'm still missing the "No CD" hack/crack, as it got lost during a puter
breakdown some years ago (

Do you have FS2000 Std or Pro?
NoCD for FS2000 2b Std can be found here:
Scroll down to 3rd January 2002
http://www.roychaffin.com/newsarch.html
For 2b Pro, scroll down a bit.

Pro ofcourse )
Thanks for the link, most links I found for this outdated gem were, well
outdated and non working.
I really like the Adventures in FS2K, they were waaaaay better than the ones
in FS9 )

I assume you got the 2b NoCD okay. The adventure I found
challenging was the 777 high altitude landing test out of
Denver. Tough landing a 777 in a high altitude valley on a
short (for a 777) runway that you can't see until you're almost
on top of it. The biggest problem was losing altitude in a hurry
without gaining too much speed. |
