I agree this should go to email now, my address is valid if you can
contact me?

As an update, some kind person on the Ubuntu forum has got my OS to boot
now. He thinks it's something to do with my DSDT file whatever that is,
by adding acpi_osi="Linux" to my kernel line it works. It also boots if
I use the "all_generic_ide" argument on the grub kernel.

Don't know what these commands actually do, but they seem to work.

I'm not quite that masochistic yet Smile I bought the classic comic covers,
they're really fun. The space shuttle puzzle of the week was very hard.

Gaming-wise, only one game - Thief: The Dark Project, which I haven't had
the chance to play yet because with my broadband connection going up and
down every five minutes, I've had little incentive to fire up my PC. I'm
going to try it later, even if, as I fear the game may be too old to run on
my PC.

Non gaming-wise, Dogtanian series one and Family Guy season 7 on DVD,
clothes, money and a Creative Zen X-Fi MP3 player to replace my dead Zen
Micro (the hard drive finally gave out after months of stuttering and
grinding), and more presents I've yet to receive because I haven't seen my
mates since Christmas Eve and apparently I had presents still waiting to be
dispatched from Pay and Amazon.

Paul.

For actual Christmas:

Last Remnant after some strong suggesting to my GF. Is actually a VERY
good game, as long as you can look past the painfully obvious graphical
glitches/slowdown. Really good combat system, interesting story, ace
music. One to install onto the hard drive though, otherwise the loading
times will kill it...

Shadowrun from my brother. I don't know why. I strongly suspect that
when I do get around to playing it, no one else will be. An 18 month old
game, thats online only, and with mixed reviews. Hmm...

Ones that I picked up during the holiday period:

Buzz. Highlight of christmas, surprisingly. My girlfriend and her
parents loved it, so we became 38th in the world over the christmas
week. A shame you can't customise the game show a bit, but the questions
are at just the right level, and are extremely varied.

Locks Quest. If you haven't picked this up, and like Tower Defence/
PixelJunk Monsters, then you owe it to yourself. Its a great game, and
kept me occupied during my ill period (which has been the last 10 days
and counting Sad ). Was in the Gamestation sale for £12 or so.

PixelJunk Eden. Excellent little game that looked horrendous on a
standard TV, absolutely gorgeous on a HD one. Pure platforming excellence.

Planned Weekend Barbeq....Gaming, I mean gaming. Yes. - Actually I don't, as there probably won't be any games for me this weekend. I might be completely wrong though (and indeed, I did play a little bit this morning, but this isn't planned anymore, so...) but if everything goes well I'll be sitting in front....

Planned Weekend Gaming. Planage. For the Weekend. With Gam.. - I will be playing: Viva Pinata (360) Have 18 more levels to gain (on 90 at the moment) and only a handful of awards in which to do that. I can't see hoe it'll be possible, but it supposedly must be. Hmm. I'll also get the final achievement at some..
