It took some time to get interested in the game but I'm enjoying it now.
I don't think it's going to be a favorite, though.

Hi Paula, so you are getting around to And then there were none. I
thought it was quite good, though like you, not one of my favorites. The
graphics were nice and I liked the acting. I am playing Keepsake and
getting near the end of the game. It has kept me very interested which
is always a good sign. Beautiful graphics, good story and good acting. I
find the puzzles in the last half of the game to be a lot more difficult
than the first half. There is a very handy in-game hint system much like
UHS hints, and I don't mind admitting, I've had to use it quite a lot of
times in the last half of the game. I think you will like Keepsake. Did
you buy it? I didn't get Dreamfall and I am not going to. My video card
wouldn't run on it. And Paradise is more money than I want to pay and
people seem to have mixed opinions on it. Maybe if and when it comes
down in price, I will consider it.

Hi, Mary.

I am really enjoying the game now once I got used to the viewpoint. I
guess I really like that look more like Black Mirror did, where you see
a room from one point of view. I guess that's 2D. I supposed this is
3D and you seen things sometimes from different points of view. I don't
know if that makes sense but it's kind of hard for me to explain what I
mean. LOL Also, I wish it would let you escape out of a conversation
if you want to. That's a small thing, though. It is very pretty
graphics and good acting.

My daughter and I both placed the Keepsake demo. We both enjoyed it.
We'll be getting that one later on. I decided not to even try
Dreamfall. It just doesn't sound fun to me. I don't really know yet
about Paradise but I might give it a try later on, also. I still have
Nibiru to play also and there are some RPGs also coming out that I'll
want to play soon. Last year I had a hard time finding anything at all
to play but this year I seem to be overflowing again. LOL That's a
good thing but sometimes it's hard to decide what to play next.

No. It's 2D -- backgrounds are all pre-rendered rather than being real
time. (Dreamfall is rendered in real time) But "And Then" has a 1st person
point of view while "Black Mirror" was 3rd person.

Then I guess it's not a 2D/3D thing, just seeing the rooms from
different points of view instead of just seeing the whole room on one
screen. Not a big deal but I just like it better the other way. It's
okay now since I've gotten used to it though.

I thought that 1st person view meant that you see throught the eyes of
the character and the character is not seen on the screen. 3rd person
view is when the character is on the screen and you control him. The
character is definitely on the screen in And Then There Were None.

I don't think much about whether a game is 2D or 3D because I can never
remember which is which, but don't feel I need to know. I just play the
game Smile
I think Black Mirror is your standard for comparing games. I am a bit
like that with
Syberia 1. I've played it a few times.

Its nice your daughter and you will play Keepsake. How old is she?
I finished Keepsake last night. I found the game to be quite long -
for me at least. I like that.

Well, better too many than not enough. I will probably go back to Myst
4, which Barbara started the same time as me. She might be finished the
game by now. I started it but got sidetracked with Keepsake which I kept
wanting to see what happened next in the game (a good sign). I don't
know what I will think about Myst 4. I liked Myst 3, but don't know if I
will like Myst 4. When I get bored with games these days, I don't always
feel like continuing.

You're right. I checked screenshots and it is 3rd person. I don't know why
I was remembering it as first person - maybe because to me the gameplay
seemed so similar to 1st person games like Cameron Files. It's still not a
2D/3D thing though. Both Black Mirror and And Then have a 2D background.
A lot of the And Then screens seem to be aerial views though, looking down
on the character from an angle instead of viewing him from the side.

That's what I didn't like is that the angle was different in different
screens. I don't know why that matters but it does to me. LOL Anyway,
once I got used to it I enjoyed the game.

You're right that Black Mirror is my standard for comparing games. Or
actually all the way back to the first Gabriel Knight and the first two
Broken Sword games. They all kind of play the same and they are what I
like best. I got used to And Then There Were None, though, and enjoyed
it. In fact, I finished it. It's a pretty short game.

My daughter just turned 8. She still plays the Nancy Drew games (she
has three now) but has to have a lot of help. She'll need help on
Keepsake, I'm sure. But she enjoys just having the character walk
around and explore and find things. She also loves animals so she liked
the wolf character.

I didn't like the first Myst and I never tried another one. I don't
always finish game if I'm not enjoying it, either. My whole reason for
playing is for fun so if it's not fun, I'm wasting my time. I nearly
didn't finish And Then There Were None but I decided to give it a chance
and I'm glad I did. I think I will enjoy Nibiru. I know what to expect
in it. The new Sherlock Holmes game is coming soon. Smile

Its good that she is interested in playing Adventure games. I guess
Nancy Drew games would suit her.
Paula, is your email address pdw.TakeThisOut@yahoo.com? Let me know if it is.I will

I think you will enjoy Nibiru OK, though not as much as Black Mirror
which we already know Smile
I liked Black mirror better but Nibiru was quite good. Certainly worth
playing.
And yes, I liked And then there were none too. I liked Sherlock Holmes
and Serrated Scalpell and Rose Tattoo, made by EA in mid 90's, so this
new Sherlock Holmes probably has nothing to do with them. Maybe its
associated with Silver Earring? I liked Rose Tattoo every much.

I didn't play Serrated Scalpel but I loved Rose Tattoo. I would enjoy
another game like it! The new one is associated with Silver Earring,
made by the same company. I didn't like Silver Earring near as well as
Rose Tattoo but I did like it. I will probably play the new one. My
real email address is paulaw DeleteThis @nctv.com.
