Assuming it's just the console that's died you could of kept an arcade 360
as a backup and just unplug the hard drive to connect over.

I notice Woolworth's are doing offers on 360's next week if you want to get
a new backup

sounds like a better idea to me, as you need the HD really.....

the arcade sku is about £150????

For a backup you don't need a HD. I am tempted to get an arcade from
Woollies as should be a lot quieter than my old model.

I know but at the time i had the money and the elite had just come out. As
it happens the bills have all just come piling in , ive just come back off
holiday so going out and buying a new console atm wouldnt have gone down
well with the wife, especially when ive got a new DSLR on the way as well

Very true but the aspect of paying the stupid price for the 120gb drive
never ever enterained me. I can get a 320gb for my PS3 for 50 quid.
