What do you mean? It's a VCII subscription subject to various rules
about local channels and the SHVA.

I have received the Denver stations since they have been on the big dish. I
have a valid subscription. The local channel rules do not affect me because
I was grandfathered. Bottom line, it appears, is that the Denver stations
are going away.

NPS and SRL are negotiating to offer the digital D5 channels on AMC1. They are
4DTV compatible.

Yes, I heard that this morning. I guess we should know within a week or so.
In the meantime I switched to the east coast stations even though for my
time purposes, Denver works a lot better. I am sorry, I do not know aht SRL
is????

I remember when Denver first came on the air in the clear many years ago it
seems. Was that F1 at that time?

Thanks for the news.

I'm grandfathered, too, and just renewed by subscription a month or so ago.

I hadn't heard anything about them going away. Thanks for the info.

SRL = Satellite Receivers Limited also Known as The Programming Center

They are a separate programming provider, not associated with YSP and not an
NPS reseller

I have had the Denver 5 for years and was grandfathered in - paid up on my
subscription for a year - was notified by a black screen yesterday covering
the Denver 5 that they were no longer available to us on 4Dtv. I called my
sat. provider and they confirmed that Denver 5 was going off on the analog
side. They tried to talk me into a small dish which I am not interested in.
Let me know what you all find out.

I just received an e-mail from NPS confirming that negotiations are in
progress. No time line is given, but if successful you will be able to renew
your subsription for 4DTV with proper quailifications or grandfathering.

I am a small dish as well as a big dish subscriber.

I called today, hoping to be able to get my grandfathered status over to
the little dish. No such luck - have to go through the waiver process.
I've been through that already and was only successful with the NBC
affiliate.

They offered to give me a credit onto my little dish bill or back on to
my credit card. <sigh>

Everybody channel Bob Dylan...

Take care,
Rich

It is an end to an era I suppose (1980's analog group suite
channelization).Since the 'Denver 5' was the ONLY reason I subscribed to
Netlink ("grandfathering status"),I am going to switch the remaining
programming to some other company.
At least I won't be bothered by those stupid mailings to convert to
DISH Network anymore.
I never was much enamored with Charlie Ergen
or his satellite service and/or business practices.
