www.militaryaiworks.com question:
If a site ask for: "Answer the Textual Confirmation question to prove you
are not a spambot'" what do they ask for?

They want to make sure they are dealing with a 'real live person' and
not an automatic electronic computer (which would not know the answer
to the question).

I post using Google Groups and for a few months they did a similar
thing for everypost I submitted (thankfully have recently stoped it).
A word would be displayed in a graphical way that would be hard for
the likes of OCR software to recognise if a spambot and the user would
have to type it in. At times it can be hard to see what each
character is what.

Simple solution, don't use the idiot google groups service for anything. Most
Usenet users just block gmail and google groups users as noise.
