How about Ritual Entertainment's constitutionally protected right to
use any distribution method they choose?
You have to get off this issue, whatever Steam's merits and
liabilities are, it's here and your constantly repeating yourself is
getting boring. Personally I prefer the incumbent distribution method,
but if I have to use Steam, I will.
Go talk to your plants or whatever you do when you are not stirring up
dust on the Usenet and let us make our own decisions about how to
manage our lives.

so what is your conversion ratio of new "steamhaters" to "those that
would not miss you"? the rate of growth of "those that would not miss
you" must be exponentially greater than the converts. that would make
you a steam supporter from one viewpoint.

now i get it, you're a steam/valve lackey promoting their product.

quit prostituting yourself and ignore steam/valve and their marketing
strategies.

"The Buffalo Theory"

A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest
buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest
and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This
natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because
the general speed and health of the whole group keeps
improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as
fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of
alcohol, as we know, kill brain cells. But naturally,
it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the
weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more
efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter
after a few beers.

I might participate, when the fetid stench of your crusade has been
washed from it. I rather like polls, normally.

But so long as you tie ulterior motives to it - such as using it to
judge the 'worthiness' of a poster - the poll is useless.

>let me make this clear to you lady... we will not tolerate
>female pirates in this group!

That's good. If you check my posting history, you'll see that while I
do have some empathy for those who can't afford to buy games, it does
not extend to endorsing piracy.

You really should watch where you use that 'we' though; most of the
newsgroup doesn't have much tolerance for you either.

I just think you're funny.
