I've got a coupl e of questions about this game:
First, are you starting over again as a poor space bum, or do you have
the option to use your character and assets from X3: Reunion?
If you do have to start over, can you get a player HQ this time
around? It was very handy for storing ships.
Second, do the cockpit mods still work? I used the cockpit view a lot
on smaller ships and never liked how the devs left out visible
cockpits, I assume they're missing from the unmodded version of Terran
Conflict as well?

Yes, you are starting over although there are cheat scripts so you can put in
whatever assets you want from the start. Yep, you can also get a player HQ as
well but this time around you have to do some serious leg work to get it. You
have to collect a ridiculous amount of certain types of wares. Have a look on
the offical forum for details.

I'm not sure if there is a cockpit mod for it yet. But if there isn't there
will be soon I expect.
I stopped playing a few weeks back as I had other games to play but I started
to lose interest with some of the various plot missions due to stupid levels
of spawning. For instance, there is one mission where you have to protect
these TL class ships as they try to set up some mines. Sounds easy. Except its
in a Kha'ak sector and they spawn continuously. There is no rationale for this
but you can sit there, as I did in my Terran Osaka, a destroyer, and slaughter
thousands of enemy ships and there is no let up. On top of this the enemies
you get depend on your fight rank, which mine was quite high, so I was getting
lots of destroyers as well. Its just silly really. No thought was put in to
this, just level tables akin to Oblivion without any mods. |
