Post subject: Wolfpack server 4.3.15 fails to compile out-of-box?
Archived from groups: rec>games>empire (more info?)

Attempting to compile the 4.3.15 server package progresses most of the
way through, then fails:

macbook:empire-4.3.15 mike$ make
make: *** No rule to make target `src/lib/commands/fuel.o', needed by
`src/server/emp_server'. Stop.

Removing the reference to fuel.c from 'sources.mk' yields a clean
compile. FWIW, this is on Mac OS X 10.5.3, though I am not sure this
is a system-specific issue. I get a clean compile now, but have not
tested anything to make sure it works/doesn't. I noticed in the
changelog that FUEL has been removed from the game now, but sources.mk
still makes reference to it. Sorry if this has been addressed
previously -- I have not played empire, nor followed the newsgroup in
some time.

Thanks!

You are correct. The incorrect sources.mk was included in the tar
ball.
You should also remove info/fuel.t as well.

I was too busy playing a game to get quality checks of the tar ball
done before it was released.

We shipped a stale sources.mk, how embarrassing. I fixed the
makefile.

Your workaround should do the trick nicely.

Thanks for reporting this!
