Yeah I'm liking it.
I just wish there were more (any) chaos dwarfs.
Anyone else trying it out? Yeah its 'just another MMO', but its
done... tragically well.
And talk about fluff. I wasn't that much of a fluff fan while playing
warhammer and 40K, but NOW!?! Its introduced in such a way that I'm
totally in to it! |

glad you like it... but we're already seeing the first of the
Warhammer Bandwagon jumpers finding their way back to WoW... and being
met with the appropriate levels of scorn and derision.
things like:
"oh... you weren't expecting us to save your raid spot were you?" and
"You didn't need all of that DKP right?"
and the best one...
"I thought Warhammer was going to kill WoW and you were going to lord
over us late arrivals to your new MMO Empire?" |

Are we? Hmm. I wasn't hoping for it to kill WoW or anything... a shame
WoW people are so serious that they're not letting you back in to
their guild... (is that the case? I'm confused about the context
here...)
So I take it you've been playing? What are your thoughts on it? (not
on WoW! ) |

nope.. I'm not playing WoW. I really have no interest in paying a
monthly fee for a glorified fantasy Counterstrike. |

Nah, I was just amused at your fervent defense of a game you don't even
play. That was a great fanboy impression, too.

It's moot now. September 1993 will go down in net.history as the
September that never ended. - Dave Fischer in 1994, alt.folklore.net
The first recorded outbreak of this was Warren Burstein saying
"It's *always* September, *somewhere* on the net" in response to

meh... I think it (WoW) is a better game. I'm not, nor will I ever be
interested in a Fantasy PvP game. No one (Blizzard or anyone else for
that matter) can balance pvp in these games. And I simply find PvE
play to be more ebtertaining. WoW is really good at that.
I'll be back in WoW when the expansion comes out. Like everyone else,
it's vacation time for me.
I already have 2 days of Vacation time planned so that I can have a 5
day weekend when Wrath drops.

First off, I was asking your opinion about WARHAMMER ONLINE (which is
not WoW, though there are similarities, but its a matter opinion on
that bit, and its a long conversation).
Sorry perhaps I'm not familiar with the Counterstrike you are
referring to... are you referring to the half life video game called
counter strike? That's an FPS. Though the movement commands of an FPS
and an MMORPG are often similar, their game play tend to differ
significantly to be unable to directly and adequately compare the two.
I mean even if it WAS just a glorified fantasy Counterstrike (at a
monthly fee), its WARHAMMER fantasy glorified Counterstrike. That's
worth SOMEthing, right?
To me, yes. Its worth 13 bucks a month. So far its been interesting,
dare I say, exciting, for the most part. And I'm enjoying the massive
backstory it provides (massively more than any MMO I've played so far). |

Sucks that that's the only one... tough to say "this game is the
bestest" if you haven't tried others.
Maybe I'll roll Ostermark Order also... the name will be vermillian.

actually the "glorified fanatsy counter strike" was directed at
Warhammer... I mistyped and entered WoW...

not really... when it comes to PvP in any of these games... the guy
with the biggest gun and the fastest connection wins. I'm not, nor
have I ever been interested in online PvP...
and before you get smug with a "you don't like pvp because you're bad
at it"... yes I am. I'm horrible at PvP and I don't get any enjoyment
out of it to justify spending time to get "not bad".

not really... It all goes back to Tolkien via AD&D anyway. an Orc is
an Ork... and I prefer colorful cartoonish graphics and cute comedy to
"grimdarkomgoverdose"....

Star Wars Galaxies provided far far more backstory than Warhammer ever
could. |
