I was unimpressed with the player base on Freedom so out of boredom I
rolled up a shield/axe tank on Virtue. My wife joined me as a blaster and
just to see how it worked, we joined in a leveling pact.

So far, so good. I know there's some of you established on Virtue; I
wouldn't mind invites to an SG with a well-developed base.

Anyone else finding Shield Def, erm, underwhelming? I guess it's okay to
serve the Cap fans but even with all the purty options for the shield (I
almost went for Energy, settled for the fancier Tech model) it seems like a
dull power set. Only the Shield Charge seems like fun but I'll be a while
getting it to see.

I think I know what you mean about Freedom - lots of people, but not
exactly the highest quality. Seems like there's a lot of kids/immature
people still playing and they all went to Freedom.

There also seem to be lots of lag spikes on Freedom - I think that's why
I never played there for long.

Lets me out, established yes, but not in SGs for the most part.

I gave up on it when I found the status protection power was a click
power instead of a toggle and lasted 2 mins with a 3 min+ recharge.

With the new suppressing toggles that don't shut off, there's absolutely
no "advantage" to a click version over a toggle (as there once was with
SR,) just a lot more hassle.
Seems to be a lot of clipping issues too, even with small characters.
I may try one again.

Wait, clickie status protection? Nuts to that. This is what I get for not
looking closely before rolling an alt.

You can Auto it, I suppose. And bitch to the Devs for a change. Is any
other power set's status protect a clickie?

At level 13, with 2 DOs and an IO, it recharges in 2 mins 8seconds, so
autoing it is definitely possible.

Not too bad on my MA/shield, although I usually have my first attack on
autofire.
