Post subject: Video of my flight on New Years Eve
Archived from groups: alt>games>microsoft>flight-sim (more info?)

I finally got my video together of my flight with my friend Dean. This
is my first video I have ever done and I can say for sure Windows
Movie Maker SUX ASS. Before that I was using Cyberlink and that wasn't
much better. Finally 3 days of messing around I downloaded Videospin
by Pinnacle and it was simple and easy to use.

Anyway 12/31/2008 was a great day. The weather was about 70 degrees
and very little wind and next to no clouds. It was so nice the airport
was busier than Dean has ever seen it he said. After we got clearance
to taxi to 7R we noticed we were behind at least 10 planes for take
off so Dean called the tower and asked if we could move to 7L. The
said ok and we turned around and got clearance to cross 7R and then
over to 7L. Once there we still had to wait because there was 8 planes
in the pattern for touch and go's. There is 2 good size flight schools
there and they had that airport hoppin that day.
We took off to the East and headed to Bartlett Lake and then North to
the Verde Valley area. We flew around 4000 to 5000 feet mostly and it
was so clear we could see snow on the Mogollon Rim and the San
Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff.
For fun we did a few stalls which are pretty uneventful in that plane
because of the low stall speed. You will see one in the video and I
bet we didn't drop 5 feet before he recovered it. Then for the landing
he prefers the slip.

Anyway it was a blast, I got to fly it for about an hour. We were out
over an hour and a half and when we got back he called the fuel truck
over and filled it back up with 7 gallons of gas at $3,30/gal. Not
sure if we used all that or not but a lot of fun for about $23 worth
of gas Smile

Vimeo maxes out the size at 500Meg and my original file was 590Meg

the original

Looked like a great flight!! We were in PHX last Oct., and stayed at the
Days Inn just down the street west of Deer Valley, near I-17. Everytime we
walked out into the parking lot there was somebody passing over in the
pattern. It's definitely a busy airport, and lots bigger than I thought
it'd be.

Great video, even if I would have been happy with just the sound of the
engine, or was the music there to cover your begging for getting just a few
seconds at the wheel ;o)

Looks like Madison was ready for her first flying lesson Surprised)

Hope you will get an other invitation soon Surprised)
