"A Vampyre Story has been penned by Bill Tiller, the founder of Autumn
Moon Entertainment. A former employee of Lucas Arts, Tiller won
himself a place in the hearts of adventure fans through his work on
titles such as Steven Spielberg's The Dig, the legendary The Curse of
Monkey Island, and Indiana Jones. A Vampyre Story combines modern 3D
animation with the qualities of classic 2D adventure design and a
highly unusual style which can best be compared with the works of Tim
Burton or Edward Gorey. All of this contributes toward making A
Vampyre Story the first classic adventure for players of the 21st
century, with the look and feel, humor and class of the cult graphic
adventures by the Californian developer."
Yay, Christmas came early this year - I can't wait to get my dirty
little hands on this game, been waiting for it since it was first
announced a few years back. |

Not sure about retail but it is available for digital download, at
least at GamersGate, perhaps elsewhere.

I'm old fashioned that way, no digital downloads here - I like having a
disc, box and manual even if that means waiting a little longer. Not to
mention that it's usually a little cheaper than downloads, for reasons that
I fail to comprehend no matter how hard they try to justify it.
Gogamer has it for US$30 but release date is listed as Dec 03, 2008 - I can
wait. Just started playing the demo, I'm not terribly impressed by the
writing dialogue humor but it's too early to tell. |

Actually since it has been out for 1-2 weeks in Europe I can comment on
that. The demo is weak, I am not sure why they haven´t done a remastering.
The voice of the demo is aweful, the compression artefacts make it
highly annoying, the final voice of the main protagonist is way better
than in the demo.
The writing of the final game is pretty good. So far I can recommend the
game.
But I am not too far into it yet.

At the local Best Buy this past Saturday, they had A Vampyre Story for
20 USD. Those of you in the United States considering picking it up
should do so now!
