Trust me, I would gladly send it to you but for one reason. I keep it
here unopened to show people when they visit us and want to know why I
gave up my association with Microsoft. It's a constant reminder to me
NEVER again to get involved doing something for a company pro bono that
I was paid a WHOLE lot of money to do elsewhere. Smile)

Tell you what: keep the box, just send me the disc and the key. Wink

The high end gaming PC that I had built to run FSX when I was involved
with Microsoft in the program's development that has never worked
properly or even in a manner approaching the quality of FS9 remains a
supersonic platform for FS9 which I have installed on it. The OS is
XP/SP2 with no Microsoft updating past that. The system is off line with
no AV required.
I am presently working on military fighter add-ons for FS9 whose quality
when released should satisfy any end user for the next hundred years.
One of these projects is an F86 Sabre that when done will be museum
quality. I'm running it now on my system.
FSX Deluxe (another gift from Microsoft) is sitting on the shelf right
next to the Vista Ultimate and will never be installed on any PC that I own.

What an abortion this version has been... The hype and excitement had
never been higher for any release. The letdown was equally as high.

Personally, I'll never forget it.

Summary of the whole FSX event:
High effort, no reward.

Thanks for that.

Perhaps Microsoft should create a Windows Emulator for itself to run
was efficiently Wink

I tried Diskeeper demo and found the thing bloody annoying. Some Auto
Defrag element kept trying to access my floppy disk drive every
minute ;-(
I have started using O&O Defrag Professional. Currently running it
through the 30 days demo and it works well

Well...the whole idea is that it remains intact and unopened, or what's

When I was a kid our teacher wanted us to learn about the word
"oxymoron". So she had us come up with some nonsensical stories to
illustrate it. One kid came up with, "I forgot my friend's phone number
so I called him up to get it." Back then (about 1970), it was funny.
Now, what with speed dial, it's like, "Of course! I should have thought
of that!" I don't even remember my girlfriend's phone number; only that
it's #2 on my cell phone's speed dial. (#1 is reserved for voice mail
or she'd be there.)

My problem with the program isn't so much that it doesn't run NOW. My
issues with Microsoft concerned the virtual ton of email I was receiving
each week from nice people all over the world asking me why FSX wouldn't
run on their low to mid range systems. Same thing trying to answer the
DirectX10 and Vista questions.
It finaly got to the point where I considered it an ethics issue. I just
couldn't support the program any longer in good faith with these people.
I asked Microsoft to remove my name from the MVP Award program for 2007
and have not looked back since.
If Microsoft had only been less "enthusiastic" with it's hype and
advertising before FSX's release, it would have been a whole different
ball game for both them and for me.
As it was, I felt I was selling something to others I didn't fully
believe in from my own test results working with the program.
For me, that's a REAL no no. I don't need Microsoft or their free software.

You know, I am very happy that I did not move to FSX in any way. I'm
a patient guy:)

Hey, I'm very interested in GODD F-86 for FS9.
