Post subject: Steve Jackson Games Men in Black - GURPS at GenCon UK
Archived from groups: uk>games>roleplay (more info?)

The Steve Jackson Games Men in Black will be present at GenCon UK, and
in addition to pickup games of such favourites as *Munchkin*, *Chez
Geek*, *Lord of the Fries*, and *King's Blood*, we're planning a full
set of GURPS demonstration scenarios. At present, our schedule
includes (but is not limited to) the following:

* Friday morning:

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: Character Creation Workshop.
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy makes creating dungeon delvers quick and easy.
Come and try it out, and feel free to bring the character to one of
the Dungeon Fantasy scenarios over the weekend.

* Friday afternoon:

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: "The Goblins of Cragmoor Keep"
A raiding party of goblins has taken up residence in the abandoned
keep of Cragmoor, using it as a base for attacks on the nearby towns.
A group of brave heroes now goes to confront them, with promise of
reward if they can retrieve the relic stolen from the temple in the
last attack.Sample 250 point characters based on the Dungeon Fantasy
templates available, or bring one you did at the character creation
workshop earlier.

Transhuman Space: "A Concert in Zulia"
Bodyguard work in 2100 is pretty much as ever; pick up the assignment
from the office, watch the client, watch your surroundings, and try to
look inconspicuous in cool sunglasses. Of course, the office computer
is likely to be sapient, and for that matter the sunglasses are too
darned chatty, but that’s progress. Anyway, this week’s contract for
Martingale Security is baby-sitting some bad-boy Mexican pop star in
some swampy South American microstate, so surely the worst you’ll get
is some pushy groupies...

* Friday evening:

GURPS English Civil War: "Marching Through Yorkshire"

* Saturday morning:

GURPS Thaumatology/The Age of Gold: "Doc Mudra vs. The Aztec Horror"
In the Age of Gold 1930s, magic has returned as a power in the world -
but it's still a mystery, and sometimes a terror. The amazing Doc
Mudra has gathered his Uncanny Four from every part of the world to
solve mysteries and blast terrors back into the shadows with the dual
lights of magic and reason. But when the Amazing Helix-Plane takes
them down Mexico way, can even the Doc's strength or the Uncanny
Four's skills prevail against ancient horrors?

* Saturday afternoon:

GURPS Martial Arts: "The Sweeper's Story"

* Saturday evening:

GURPS Technomancer: "Where Penguins Dare"

* Sunday morning (late morning - we know gamers):

GURPS Dungeon Fantasy: "The Shattered Crypts of Caryn"
The city of Caryn lies in ruin, but great riches are said to be buried
in the catacombs with the long dead-founders. Daring tomb raiders come
forth to brave the horrors in search of these riches. Sample 250 point
characters based on the Dungeon Fantasy templates available, or bring
one you did at the character creation workshop earlier.

* Sunday afternoon:

GURPS Old West: "The Strange Sin of Flavius Dragulescu"

The Discworld Roleplaying Game: Certified Right and Proper
A bunch of wandering FourEcksians (and a friend, and their horse) are
asked to deliver some mail to that nice gentleman up in the mountains.
There may even be a free meal in it. So no worries, right, mate? (This
is a fairly quick demo scenario, at around 2 hours. If asked nicely, I
might manage to run it at other times during the con too.)

We should have sign-up sheets for these games out at or near our
assigned tables, which we understand will be in Palmer G01/2. We look
forward to seeing everyone there.
