Old pc croaks, salvage hd's...copy entire Steam folder to new hd...make a
shortcut to old Steam.exe just transferred over...run it, log in, let it
update all the games. Run any game in the list, no problems! Gotta love
that! Very Happy

Nice.

Personally I love Steam. Always have. I didn't like the teething
problems it had but there were just that. I think Steam is the best
content delivery system I have used.

Hey man as long as it stays UP and I can get to my games whenever I want to,
I got no gripe Smile

To be fair I've not used Steam an awful lot of the last year or so.
I'm unaware of it's more recent problems and I remember the original
problems. Initially the platform was quite flawed but after having
used EA's content delivery system I've begun to appreciate how good
Valves really is.

I think he's road kill on Steam highway these days.
Still have a bit of difficulty with the offline mode, and some bandwidth
control would be nice, but Steam's OK...

I heard that! I don't have that many games on Steam, about a dozen, plus a
bunch of mods for HL2 and HL1. Heh, my little list isn't long enough for
a scrollbar Smile

But they all play fine. Even from moving them from one pc to the next.
