I have a problem and it seems to be with RTS games mostly but it does
happen on others too .
Me and my friend can never play each other online with games due to
not being able to see the servers we create or it saying the opposing
persons lac is to high .
He is on AOL and i am on Virgin . Does anyone know what could be
causing this very annoying problem .
any help is much appreciated
cheers cal

AOL could be the problem.

Could be a firewall on either machine.

Could be you don't have the right UDP port forwarded (or none at all)

Or it could be all of the above Smile

I dont think Aol or Virgin will be the problem
Perhaps one of you guys is not able to set it up right
Each one of you should try to connect to others first, and see who is
the problem

One or both of you are probably not forwarding their ports correctly,
make sure you do that. For SC, it's 6112-6119 UDP, unless I recall
wrong, don't remember if there were any TCP ones needed.

Seeing you have the issue in several games probably means it's just
your network settings, though I guess one can never rule out the fact
that AOL and Verizon could possibly be just sucking the cock.
