Hello,
I am completely new to Warhammer (40 K), but i bought me a box with space
marines. I am starting to paint the guys and having al ot of fun with it.
BUT.. i also saw the battle sisters from the witchhunters and like there
looks.
Now i understand that the 2 armies can be mixed to some extend.
Can someone tell me how i can mix Witch Hunters into a space marine army ? I
already found how to mix space marines in a WH armie (on the GW site), but i
can nowhere find how to mix WH into a space marine army.
Thanks in advance |

The method is described in the Witch hunters Codex, page 25. Essentially it
says you can include allied Witch Hunters units in any Marine, Imperial
Guard, or Daemon Hunters army. You get up to 1 HQ, Elite or Fast choice, and
up to 2 Troops. No heavies.

That's if you have a parent WH army - you can't take SoB and Marines in the
same army. You can however take SoB units in a Marine parent army.

Adeptus Sororitas are units from the 'Sisters of Battle' Codex.
They're saying you can't mix Marines, Sisters of Battle, and Witch
Hunters all in the same single army list / force organization chart.
This is doubtless due to the fact that the Sisters of Battle and Marines
distrust each other.
Also so you know - on rec.games.miniatures.warhammer it's standard form
to type or post your reply text *UNDER* the text you're replying to (as
I've done here - my text is under your quoted text above). It makes it
so that people who didn't get all the posts in a thread can still read
the individual posts from top to bottom and understand what is being
discussed.
Hope that helps and welcome to RGMW.

P.S. there's a link to rgmw.org and the FAQ - info on how to get the
most out of your RGMW posts.

Adepta Soroitas = Sisters of Battle
So, no units consisting of or exclusive to them (SoB squad, Seraphim,
Exorcist, etc.)
In a SM army, you can have SoB as allies, but in a WH army SM can be taken
as allies only if SoB are not part of the WH force.
Confused yet?

Thank you for understanding. Everyone's 'new' here at first, so
not knowing about the top posting isn't a big deal.
> So.... i can have lots of Space Marines in a WH army, as long as there are

Yeah, which makes sense from a 'fluff' (background story)
standpoint as the Marines and Sisters of Battle distrust each other, but
is kind of silly considering that a pure Marine or Sisters army could
potentially include allied units from the other (distrusted) army. Go
figure.
> One final question... The Cannones can lead a force of Celestines.... i

All the detailed info about them (not included in Codex WH) is in
the Sisters of Battle codex. If you can't find one near where you live,
you can always try Ebay as I routinely see them sell for low prices
there. People here may well also be able to recommend stores in your
area or online that sell GW stuff at a discount too.

I had thought that Codex WH replaced the Sisters of Battle Codex, is this
not the case? Sounds like I might need to pick up a copy the next time I
see it.

I don't think WH replaced the SOB codex. AFAIK they're two
seperate animals. The WH codex covers a part of the Inquisition (which
utilizes SOB forces among others) where as the SOB codex deals entirely
with fielding SOB forces. Unless the WH codex has all the SOB units and
covers things like 'Faith Points' that the SOB use, then I'd say that
the WH has not replaced the SOB codex.

Yes, the WH codex contains all of that info. Much like the GK are the
military arm of the
DH, the SoB are now included in the WH codex as the same.
But the SoB codex is still a great reference for fluff.

I don't have either, but I thought that C:SoB had been fully replaced by
C:WH. The SoB book is really only useful for the extra fluff it contains
now.

Look under the Elites section in the WH codex, you'll find them there

OK, that had been my understanding. In any case, I'd like to start slowly
picking up the 2nd Ed. Codex books that I don't have when I can find them
locally cheap enough, as I've got most of the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Ed. books.
Even if they're no longer usable, they can provide ideas for colour schemes,
and background information.

*Throws bucket of cold water over Myr*
Umm, the only "SoB Codex" is from 2nd Ed, so its been very much replaced,
first by the C:CA list, then the WH codex.
