The first one is actually pretty easy. There are much harder colossi
later in the game; I had to consult GameFAQs to figure them out.
Fantastic game, innit. The atmosphere is, well, colossal.

The low res graphics (with fuzz-o-filter) make my eyes scream, the
controls make my hands cry, and the wide open spaces of nothing to do
make me just want to turn it off. So, as great as the actual fights are,
after 7 of them I gave up.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the first colossi but ended up being
totally swept away by the game. If you liked that one you'll love the
later ones!
I think my favourite would have to be the one where lbh fgnaq ba gur
onpx bs lbhe ubefr naq fubbg gur sybng oynqqref bs gur nveobear fnaq
fanxr. Epic just isn't the word.
My PS2 optical drive is flakey and won't play 70% of discs. Would an
HD LOADER help me get around this problem by letting me install them
from my PC or something?

I was utterly turned off the first time I played it but, after
perservering, was totally won over. The hype for this game is
justified and it proves that smooth running and texture quality is not
always so important.
If you can't get past that, I suggest you wait until PS2 emulators are
flawless and play it on PC in 2016 or whenever.

HD LOADER u use it with a PS2 net adapter with IDE hard Drive attached
up to 500GB, so yes, HD LOADER is best if your optical lens is running
risky, u install IDE HD to Net adapter in PS2, you install games to
HARD DRIVE via HD LOADER, I recommend 0.8c which u can use on a memory
card soft mod (FREE MC BOOT) or I use it with Momento on Memor32 I
added to files, or ulanch elf u can add it to that, actually I got a
spare if your interested with unlaunch elf boot, select HD LOADER,
select game from Hard drive, a PS2 with hard drive and component cable
was way ahead of its time, also, I agree with dekay, the scenery
rendering is fuzzy even with component cable for some reason, but the
the Colossi are rendered great. I recommend www.psx-scene.org(or com)
and exploitation for more info...
Cheers

I agree, but I am past that now, its funny the bonus materials section
makes the games look next gen (this gen) in picture format, whereas I
use component cable and its still fuzzo vision in places, especially
fields etc...

I really liked the game but I couldn't cope with endlessly falling
off the bloody things and having to start again, so I did resort
to a cheating cart that enabled infinite grip. I think I'd have
gone insane otherwise. I have nothing but admiration for those
clever types that finished this game without cheating.

I wish the backwards compatible PS3s would allow you to install PS2
games to the HD. I guess that area of the PS3 isn't getting any love
anymore though |
