Post subject: Using Serial Connection Instead of IR Blaster
Archived from groups: alt>video>ptv>replaytv (more info?)

Hi,

I have a ReplayTV 5500 and have it hooked up to a Pioneer BD-V1100 cable
box. It changes channels but a slower than my Pioneer box does on its
own. I am wondering if I could use the serial connection to improve
comm speed?

Also, during the quick setup I tested the remote by pressing -> to turn
on the pioneer unit, but now I can't turn the pioneer unit with the
ReplayTV. Any ideas on how I can get the 5500 to turn on the pioneer
when the 5550 turns on and by using the 5500 remote?

TIA,
Dan
