I have had a 4DTV up and running for about a week and have noticed
something that is troubling.
First, all of the Digicipher channels are coming in nice and the unit
seems to be working well.
The problem though is that when one watches Britcom programming from
Nebraska Public Television and Georgia Public Television on a Saturday
night things just fall apart.
Programming on Saturday night seems to be lacking in good tape quality
and thus causes the dreaded lost or screwed up signal and picture. What
is troubling is that it happens on my receiver on 'both' Nebraska and
Georgia. The Alabama Public Television transmissions on over the air
(not satellite) also suffer the same fate. Guess that they think that no
one watches them on Saturday night.
Are these networks so poorly run on Saturday night for a reason? I
sometimes think that chimps are running the equipment. I think that the
real problem lies with the condition of the tape. It does not matter if
you have a digital or analog playback machines. A crimped or creased
tape will not play correctly. I have suggested to the folks at Alabama
to get a second generation of the programming in DVD to eliminate the
problem. They said that they were working on it. Yea, right.
Has anyone else noticed this problem with both Georgia and Nebraska
satellite transmissions?
Things could be worse. I could have a HD plasma television and satellite
system and still get this screwed up mess.
