| A friend and I played this one through twice multiplayer. Despite the
crashes, we had a great time. Fantastic game. Is there any other game
like this? That is, a FPS with RPG elements, a good storyline, and
works in multiplayer? Thanks.

Deus Ex, or Deus Ex: Invisible War. Terrific games. |

DXIW was not as good as the original, but it is not as bad as the
whiners claim it is. Try it, it is cheap now. |

Well, the first one is anyway. The second one is truly, utterly dire. It is
console inspired rubbish (despite the fact that FPS games never have and
never will be any good what so ever on any console what so ever). |

Did you ever try "Second Sight"? That was a truly amazing game, even
on console.
Cheers

Deus Ex: Invisible War wasn't *THAT* bad. I'll admit it doesn't live up to
the original, but it's still better than 90% of the other games out there. |

Compared to the first, the 2nd was THAT BAD. |

I'll be trying it - came free with my graphics card. Too many other games
to finish before starting a new one tho... |

Except for its utterly terrible controls. Poor graphics, medicore
sound and voice acting, some humdrum level design, lackluster AI and
-God help us- save points aren't plusses either. The story was okay,
albeit a bit cliche (good pacing, though), and the powers were neat.
Truly amazing? Not really; not even for a console port. Adequate and
at times fun, yes.
But nothing like System Shock 2, though. Different genres, different
styles. As suggested, Deus Ex is probably the best match. Perhaps Arx
Fatalis, if you don't mind a radical change in setting and atmosphere
(neither have multiplayer, though. Did the Baldurs Gate games have
co-op?) |

Haven't played either, but _Halo_ and _Goldeneye_ have something of a
reputation.

Yeah, because of lack of competition. Halo was tripe, and Goldeneye
was worse. |
