News flash from Naval Warfare Simulations;

SUPREMACY AT SEA

We are presently working on a new strategic/operational naval wargame
with the ability to design your own ships and fleets based on
historical and/or custom parameters. Preliminary beta testing is
already underway with very good results.

Present plans are for PC, MAC, and Linux compatibility. Launch date is
planned for Q3-Q4 of this year. A section covering this upcoming naval
wargame will be posted within a few days on our forums at NWS;

http://forums.nws-online.net

Thanks!

The forum seems to be already up at :

http://forums.nws-online.net/forumdisplay.php?s=b8f9bb97d88e8a8fe75bb7...72f7821

Nothing there yet, so here's your chance to post the very first post in
it - I suggest a "when will it be ready" post Smile

a) Compatibility with NAW will likely not be feasible due to the detail
level of NAW. TAS v2.0 will be compatible with NAW however for handling
naval campaigns.

b) I dont want to give out too much info about the ship designer in SAS
yet, but it is quite fun and allows for a wide range of interesting
options. Wink

Hmmmm. How are ships to be designed? If it's not already most of
the way done, I could suggest using SpringSharp (www.springsharp.com)....

game use ?"

Thought about it - but getting banned on my first post would be too
much Smile

Seriously : Christopher Dean of NWS has already posted his copy
protection policy in here - it was serial number or something equally
harmless.

Eddy is just being silly about getting "banned". Wink I havent had to
ban anyone except a spammer from our forums since they opened.
Personaly I think Eddy is a pretty cool cat, Mr Wargamer Super Slueth.
LOL! Wink

Eddy is right however about our protection policies and even though no
final decision has been made about the protection schemes of our
upcoming releases they will not be intrusive, use any spyware tactics,
or any activation routines.

As our customers already know we are also extremely committed to rapid
fire tech support and responses to customer inquiries about our
designs. We are wargamers also.. most of my team for many years
including myself and we have not in any way forgotten our origins or
what it is like to be customers and gamers ourselves. I personaly still
buy and play wargames when I can. Having time to play them all.. well,
we all know how that goes.. too many toys and never enough time! LOL!
Wink

Quick note for those that play our Warship Combat : Dreadnoughts and
Battleships naval wargame; I am working with an independent music
composer right now on a very neat musical score for the wargame. This
will be a new bonus feature for the upcoming v1.1 major update! Sorry
it has taken so long to get the v1.1 ready to launch but I have posted
various news bulletins on our forums at NWS about what will be
included.

http://forums.nws-online.net

Remember, v1.1 will be a free major update to registered owners of WCDB
and will include warships that participated in the RJW naval campaign.

Thanks!

Off course I am Smile - I don't even care about it anyway - as the saying
goes "you only experience flak when you're above the target"

I've been banned twice and both times for stating the obvious. The
previous time it happened was at the Talonsoft TOAW forum after posting
my umpteenth bug report ("do this, then that and that's the result
which is FUBAR"). I loved that game and thought the developers would be
happy with me pointing out flaws in their design. I was young and silly
then. Now I'm a bit older (but still silly)

Ive been known to fire off some hammers on some various game designs in
the past.. and Im talking stuff that just questioned any logical
explanation. Wink

Like you I have gotten older and hopefully wiser.. but I still love my
toys..(AKA wargames). Wink

Thanks.

So, you've got a sideline in breast implants now ... Smile

Nope, nothing - which is unusual - I think you might have send it to my
old corporate email address so I've send you a mail myself - a reply on
that will avoid the spam traps.

So NAW is like Steel Panthers on water or Harpoon pre1956, and SAS (the
game not the programming language) is like WitP for the whole world, or
Bombing The Reich in water?

The last updated release window for Navies at War (NAW) was Q3-Q4 of
this year, but it is possible release will be pushed to Q1-2007 at the
earliest-----thank goodness, I haven't even got HOI2:DD yet and I was
looking at this and SAS. Sounds good with me.
